One week with the three icons of Morocco: the Sahara, the medina of Fes and the blue streets of Chefchaouen.
The most complete first trip to Morocco. From Marrakech we cross the Atlas to the dunes of Merzouga, then travel north to Fes and its thousand-year-old medina, and finish in the blue town of Chefchaouen in the Rif mountains.
On the last day your driver takes you back to Marrakech or to the airport of Fes or Tangier, as you prefer.
One week that combines the three images everyone dreams of in Morocco: the red kasbahs of the south, the golden dunes of the Sahara and the blue lanes of Chefchaouen, with a full day in the medina of Fes in between.
The itinerary flows naturally from south to north, without going back on the same road, and you can finish in Fes, Tangier or back in Marrakech depending on your flight.

Day by day
Day1
Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Dades
High Atlas, Ait Ben Haddou and the Rose Valley. Night in the Dades valley.
Leaving Marrakech, the road climbs the High Atlas through Berber villages and walnut trees to the Tizi n'Tichka pass, at over 2,200 metres. On the other side you visit Ait Ben Haddou, the fortified ksar of earth that has appeared in many films, then pass Ouarzazate, the Skoura palm grove and the Rose Valley before reaching the Dades valley for the night.
Day2
Dades – Todra – Merzouga
The Todra gorges and the road to the Sahara. Camel ride at sunset and night in the desert camp.
In the morning you drive to Tinghir and walk into the Todra gorges, where the river runs between vertical red cliffs that rise hundreds of metres high. The road then crosses the plateau of the ksour, with Tinejdad, Erfoud and the palm groves of the Tafilalet, until the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi appear on the horizon at Merzouga.
Day3
Merzouga – Midelt – Fes
Sunrise over the dunes, then north through the Ziz valley and the cedar forests to Fes.
After the sunrise over Erg Chebbi and breakfast, you travel north through the Tafilalet palm groves and the Ziz valley, with a stop at a viewpoint over the gorges. Lunch in Midelt, then the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas, Azrou and Ifrane, before arriving in Fes in the evening.
Day4
Fes
Guided visit of the medina: the tanneries, the Bou Inania madrasa, the Al Quaraouiyine mosque and the souks.
Fes el-Bali is one of the largest car-free urban areas in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage site. With a local guide you walk its maze of more than nine thousand lanes: the Bou Inania madrasa with its carved cedar and zellige tiles, the Al Quaraouiyine mosque and university, the Nejjarine fountain and the Chouara tanneries, seen from a terrace. You also meet weavers, coppersmiths and potters at work.
Day5
Fes – Chefchaouen
Drive into the Rif mountains to Chefchaouen. Afternoon in the blue medina.
The road north from Fes crosses rolling hills and olive groves before climbing into the Rif. In the afternoon you reach Chefchaouen, the famous blue town, where you have time to wander the medina, see the Outa el-Hammam square and the red walls of the kasbah, and watch the sunset from the Spanish mosque.
Day6
Chefchaouen
A free morning in the blue town and a walk up to the Spanish mosque for the view.
A full day to enjoy Chefchaouen slowly. Walk up to the Ras el-Maa spring where women still wash wool, visit the kasbah and its small museum, and get lost in the blue alleys away from the crowds. Nature lovers can join a hike to the Akchour waterfalls and the God's Bridge rock arch in the nearby national park.
Day7
Chefchaouen – Marrakech or airport
Transfer back to Marrakech, or to Fes or Tangier airport. End of the trip.
On the last day you can choose: a transfer to Tangier or Fes airport, or the long drive south back to Marrakech along the motorway, with stops for lunch on the way. Your driver adapts the timing to your flight.
