Day Trip from Ouarzazate to Ait Ben Haddou & Telouet
1 dayTours from OuarzazatePrivateTailor-made
The two great kasbahs of the High Atlas in one day: the UNESCO ksar of Ait Ben Haddou and the palace of the Glaoui in Telouet.
From Ouarzazate we follow the old caravan route into the High Atlas. Ait Ben Haddou rises above its river, and further up the valley the kasbah of Telouet hides painted ceilings and carved cedar.
The road between them, through the Ounila valley, is one of the most beautiful in the region.
This day follows the old salt and caravan road between the Sahara and Marrakech, through one of the most authentic valleys of the High Atlas. It is a quiet alternative to the main road, with very few other visitors.
The track through the Ounila valley is now paved and suitable for a normal car.
