Two hours on a camel into the dunes of Erg Chebbi, with tea and the sunset from the top of a dune.
The simplest and most beautiful way to discover the dunes. Our cameleer leads you into Erg Chebbi in the late afternoon; you climb a dune for the sunset and ride back as the first stars appear.
Ideal if you are already staying in Merzouga and want to enjoy the dunes at the best time of day. The ride is gentle and suitable for children and beginners.
We can also organise a sunrise ride, or add a night in the desert camp.

Day by day
Part1
Late afternoon · The ride
Meeting in Merzouga and camel ride into the dunes.
We meet you at your hotel in Merzouga about two hours before sunset. Your cameleer, a local from a nomad family, helps you onto the camel and leads the caravan into the dunes.
Part2
Sunset · On the dune
Mint tea and the sunset from the top of a dune.
You climb a high dune on foot to watch the sun set over Erg Chebbi, with a glass of mint tea. It is the best moment for photos, as the shadows draw lines across the sand.
Part3
Evening · Back
Ride back to the village at dusk.
You ride back to the village as night falls and the first stars appear. If you wish, you can add a dinner in a local guesthouse.
