3-Day Tour from Errachidia to Marrakech via the Desert

3 daysTours from ErrachidiaPrivateTailor-made

Land in Errachidia, sleep in the dunes of Merzouga and cross the south of Morocco to Marrakech.

A smart way to see the desert: fly to Errachidia, spend the first night in the Sahara and then travel west by road, discovering the gorges, the kasbahs and the High Atlas.

The trip ends in Marrakech, ready for the next part of your holiday.

Start straight in the desert by flying into Errachidia, then travel west through the gorges and the kasbahs to Marrakech. It is a clever way to see the south without spending your first day in the car.

You finish in Marrakech, where it is easy to continue your holiday or fly home.

Day by day

Day1

Errachidia – Merzouga

Pick-up and drive through the Ziz valley and Erfoud to Merzouga. Camel ride and night in the camp.

From Errachidia the road follows the Ziz river south, a green valley of palm trees and old fortified villages called ksour, with a viewpoint over the Source Bleue of Meski. After Erfoud and Rissani, the dunes of Erg Chebbi rise on the horizon and you arrive in Merzouga.

Day2

Merzouga – Todra – Dades

Sunrise, then Rissani, Tinejdad and the Todra gorges. Night in the Dades valley.

Wake up early to watch the sunrise from the top of a dune, then ride back to the village for breakfast and a shower. The road west passes Rissani, the old capital of the Tafilalet with its busy market, and the oases of Tinejdad. In the afternoon you walk in the Todra gorges and continue to the Dades valley, famous for its winding road and rock formations.

Day3

Dades – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

The Rose Valley, Ouarzazate, Ait Ben Haddou and the Tizi n'Tichka pass to Marrakech.

The road of the thousand kasbahs takes you through the Rose Valley, where Damask roses are grown, and the palm grove of Skoura with its earthen kasbahs. After Ouarzazate you visit the ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, then cross the High Atlas by the Tizi n'Tichka pass and descend to Marrakech, arriving in the evening.
