3-Day Zagora Desert Tour from Agadir

3 daysTours from AgadirPrivateTailor-made

A short desert escape from Agadir: Taroudant, Ouarzazate, the palm groves of the Draa and a night in a camp near Zagora.

Three days are enough to go from the ocean to the desert. We cross the Anti-Atlas to Ouarzazate and follow the longest palm grove in Morocco, the Draa valley, down to Zagora.

A camel ride takes you to a camp in the dunes for dinner and a night under the stars.

A shorter desert adventure from Agadir. Zagora is closer than Merzouga and lets you enjoy a camel ride and a night in the dunes in three days, with the beautiful Draa valley on the way.

It is a good option for families and couples who want to combine their beach holiday with a real taste of the Sahara.

Day1

Agadir – Taroudant – Ouarzazate

Leaving the coast, you cross the Souss valley to Taroudant, a market town surrounded by red ramparts. The road then climbs between the High Atlas and the Anti-Atlas to Taliouine, the land of saffron, where you can visit a cooperative, and continues across the plateau to Ouarzazate.

Day2

Ouarzazate – Draa Valley – Zagora

Ait Ben Haddou in the morning, then Agdz and the Draa valley to Zagora. Camel ride and night in the camp.

South of Ouarzazate the road crosses the black mountains of the Anti-Atlas by the Tizi n'Tinifift pass and descends to Agdz. From there you follow the Draa valley, a long green ribbon of palm trees, passing the kasbah of Tamnougalt, to Zagora, where a camel caravan takes you to the camp in the dunes.

Day3

Zagora – Agadir

Sunrise in the desert and the long scenic drive back to Agadir.

After sunrise in the desert you drive back north to Ouarzazate and then west across the plateau, through Taliouine and the Souss valley, arriving in Agadir in the evening. It is a long day, with regular stops for lunch and photos.
